Gymnastics Overload
August 13, 2008 by JayWhile I’m still under this Olympics/Gymnastics spell, I just wanted to tell everyone (i know this is like shouting in outerspace) who’s hating on China - “oh the girls aren’t 16,” “they don’t ever see their family” or “they were selected when they were 3,” “they’re machines.”
It’s fucking China. I really think it’s worthwhile to separate the gymnasts from their nation’s unethical practices for a second and just enjoy what they’ve worked so hard at perfecting. And it makes me really happy to see the men’s and women’s teams perform breathtaking routines that no one else in the world can hold a candle to. I mean, how can it not?
i think my favorite part is in the floor routine when the girl realizes that she is standing in the middle of the square and runs out leaving her friend stranded in the middle….
